Meet the Artist
I’m Cleo, owner and Makeup Artist at Cleo Robyn Artistry, based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
I specialize in a natural, glowy makeup application that is personalized to suit You for your special day.
I love working with everyday women, helping them see a spark within themselves that they may have not seen before.
I enjoy expressing my creativity in many ways, and have studied courses in both Makeup Artistry and Fashion. I also have a deep love for animals, which has lead me on a Cruelty Free lifestyle, where I stand against animal testing and strive to show my clients and fellow makeup lovers that Cruelty Free cosmetics are a more conscious substitute, and that you can still achieve amazing makeup looks using Cruelty Free cosmetics.
My work brings me inexplicable joy and I put all my love into what I do. I spend hour upon hour researching, and perfecting my craft and have spent time and effort investing into my education with about 8 years’ worth of experience.
I'm certified in Beauty, Special Effects and Theatre makeup, although beauty makeup is my strong point. I qualified at the end of 2013, and have completed classes with celebrity and award winning artists recently, as I believe that you can never stop learning and working on your craft.
When it comes to my business, about 20% of time is spent actually doing makeup, while the remainder is spent on education & research, sanitizing & maintaining my kit, & doing what I can to not only run my business, but to keep improving it too.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing a woman exude confidence, especially when it's a result of the work I've done. My approach is to accentuate your greatest attributes and highlight your best features. So no matter the occasion, you will look and feel amazing.

I've never really had much of a sweet tooth, but I've found myself looking for the perfect cupcake. Always open to recommendations!
Mental Health
I'm a huge advocate for mental health and offer the option of silent appointments, allowing clients to request one if they're feeling anxious, tired or mentally drained.
Sunglasses
This is more of a guilty pleasure. I love collecting all kinds of sunglasses, especially novelty sunglasses that are really just admired from afar - waiting for the perfect day to be worn.
My kit / Set up
Because I do freelance work, I carry anything and everything I will need, but still make sure to pack smart in order to stay mobile. The only thing I require from you as a client, is some surface area and an accessible plug point for my lighting, as I travel with my own chair too.
Over the years I've owned all kinds of makeup cases, most of which were an immense struggle to lug up and down stairs and over gravel.
My latest kit ensures all my products are decanted and packed into smaller, more convenient packaging, so trust that even though I pitch up with a tiny bag, I have everything! Every item has it's place, and I work right out of my bag so I don't take up much space, and never leave a mess.
