I have questions about :

The Basics

Where are you based & are you mobile?

I'm based in  Johannesburg, South Africa and am strictly mobile, meaning I only travel out to clients who prefer having their makeup done at home or venue of their choice for convenience.

A standard Call Out Fee applies for any location within the Johannesburg area.

Destination Bookings (outside of Johannesburg or South Africa) require fuel or airfare, accommodation and meals to be covered by the client. Time lost during travelling will also be accounted for.

Destination bookings require a minimum of 5 faces for makeup. Please contact me directly for a personalized quote.

What kind of products do you use in your kit?

What kind of products do you use?

I use a range of products to get a feel of different cruelty free brands, and my kit, like my craft, is something I never feel 'done' with.

With that being said, I am currently undergoing a major change in kit size. I am working on decanting and packing my products into smaller, more convenient packaging, so trust that even though I pitch up with a tiny bag, I have everything!

In my kit, you can find anything from Kryolan, RCMA, Flormar, Makeup Geek, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Luma, EcoBrow, and The Body Shop.

I also use some personal favourite drugstore products that I usually recommend to clients due to easy accessibility, namely Catrice, Essence and Palladio, although I only use specific products from these brands, such as some liners and mascaras.

You can trust that the products in my kit are 100% authentic and long lasting.

Every item has it's place, and I work right out of my bag so I don't take up much space, and never leave a mess.

How does your Booking Process work?

How does your Booking Process work?

Once I receive an email with your requested date and venue, an invoice and contract will be sent to you via email.

Your booking or appointment is only officially and fully secured once I receive your retainer and signed contract.

Your retainer is 50% of your final amount, due to be paid within 7 days of receiving your invoice.

If a retainer has not been paid within 7 days, your date/ time will not be guaranteed and I may re-book services without notice to you.

My Appointment

What will my appointment look like

&

How long will it last?

I require about 15 minutes to find an ideal spot and set up my products, chair & lighting.

If no preview session has been done, I'll have a look at an image you've chosen as reference, or we'll discuss the look you're going for.

Depending on the look, your Makeup Application will take 60-90 minutes including skin prep.

I will then make any changes to the look, if necessary, pack up & be on my way. This gives about 2 hours total

How

do I prepare for my

Makeup Appointment?

The most important contributing factor for good makeup - is good skin care.

In order for the makeup to look its best, we need to start with a smooth canvas.

It would be best for your face to be cleansed, exfoliated and makeup free prior to your appointment.

I do prep & prime the skin before applying your makeup, although depending on your skin type or condition, this may not suffice.

I would suggest Brides go for at least 1 - 2 facials leading up to their Wedding Day.

&
Will my Makeup last all day?

This will all depend on the look you're going for. A light makeup look can take anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour, while Bridal and Full Glam looks can take up to 90 minutes.

With regards to how the makeup lasts, It really depends on the individual. The makeup usually lasts for an entire event / 8-12 hours.

I use quality primers and setting sprays to ensure makeup stays in place.
However, lipstick may require a touch up and clients with oily skin may need to blot some shine away.

Rates & Fees

What kind of extra fees could be involved?

Apart from your Makeup Application Fee &  Call Out Fees - depending on your venue chosen, you could expect to be billed for extra charges, such as Toll Fees and Parking Fees.

In the instance where a client runs significantly late that that it would interfere with the schedule, a late fee will be charged for every half an hour the client is late. Clients are given a grace period of 15 minutes.

This also applies for start times prior to 7:30am

Why does Bridal Makeup cost more?

By the time a Bride's wedding day comes along, there has already been many back and forth arrangements and communication between myself and the bride, from the time the bride books me, up until I leave the venue on the Wedding Day (sometimes up to a year). This involves creating agreements, scheduling, arranging and maintaining timelines for the wedding day, and other back end work that a standard event does not usually require.

My Bridal Makeup also includes an extra skin prep step as opposed to basic skin prep done with event makeup, which also adds to the overall time allocation for the makeup look for the preview (trial), and wedding day.

How does your Payment Plan work?

Your initial retainer is due within 7 days of you receiving your invoice.

The balance can be paid in installments, but is due to be settled 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

In the instance of short notice bookings, the full amount will be requested, and by no means will a client be permitted to make payment after services have been rendered.
